Thanks for asking this excellent question...Smitha,

Thanks for asking this excellent question!

Yes. It means to say that the author needs to get his or her artifact reviewed and validated. Of course, support from peers and reviewers is necessary to make this happen. When we are passionate about the work product we create, we get it reviewed and update it or improve it so that the final product (Requirements in this case) is of high quality.

In this world of agile software development the Product Owner (or equivalent role holder) must initiate and facilitate 'backlog grooming' in order to refine and review user stories.

Won't we be proud of delivering high quality requirements to our project teams?

Thanks again!Raja Bavanihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03107697584076683320noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-356516183452551110.post-27021253899936975972012-06-20T15:52:37.121-07:002012-06-20T15:52:37.121-07:00Very helpful article.
One question though on the I...Very helpful article.
One question though on the Inadequate Validation or Reviews: paragraph.
Does it mean to say that Facilitating and ensuring Review meetings and validations are conducted is the Requirements Analyst's responsibility. Or the complete responsibility to review and resolve defect himself.

In general once a specification document passes through review of the concerned stake holders, doesn't it become the property of the company and everyone who signed off on it become equally responsible for the document and not just the author or the Req Analyst.
ThanksSmithanoreply@blogger.com
